Meet Coach Norberto Ochoa
From the age of 4, soccer became more than just a game for Norberto Ochoa—it became a way of life. He was fortunate to have a father who instilled in him and his brothers the values of dedication, discipline, and love for the sport.
Norberto's skill on the field led him to achieve remarkable milestones. His remarkable performance earned him a well-deserved place in the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
College Experience
Transitioning to college and amateur soccer, Norberto continued to shine. He made significant contributions to the success of the Mount San Antonio College soccer team, earning recognition as the MVP of the 2012 CCCAA Finals as his team clinched the state championship for the fourth consecutive year.
Professional Experience
Venturing beyond borders, Norberto showcased his skills in Europe, representing SC Rheindorf Altach and Club Brugge. Upon returning to the United States, he pursued higher education at UC Riverside while continuing to excel on the soccer field. His talent didn't go unnoticed, as he earned a spot at the MLS Combine in 2016.
Taking the leap into professional soccer, Norberto signed with the United Soccer League side, Charlotte Independence, in 2016. His journey continued as he currently applies his skills in the UPSL with Chiriacos, contributing to their success as UPSL National Champions.
Coaching Background
Beyond his achievements as a player, Norberto is equally passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience. He has coached Men's Soccer at Jurupa Valley High School, guiding the team to the second round of CIF in 2019. Alongside his pursuit of soccer excellence, Norberto is currently pursuing a master's degree in teaching, reflecting his commitment to education and personal growth. Off the field, Norberto embodies the values of a family man, finding balance between his roles as a husband and father. His dedication to both his family and his craft serves as an inspiration to all who encounter him, demonstrating that success is not just measured by victories on the field, but by the impact we make in the lives of others.
